The Mark III Robot is the successor to the previous robot kits designed and sold by the
Portland Area Robotics Society. Sold as an entire kit it's aims to be general-purpose,
expandable and accessible for beginners.
This kit contains a controller board, Sharp GP2D12 Distance Measuring sensors (Opponent detection),
Fairchild QRB1134 IR Photoreflector sensors (Edge Detection), pre-programmed PIC, chassis, wheels,
servo motors, documentation and software.

Drive comes via a pair of GM8 motors with L293D interface to the controller.

SumoBot® is produced by Parallax, Inc. and designed within the
Northwest Robot Mini-Sumo Tournament rules (these are are based on Official Rules
of the FSI All Japan Robot Sumo Tournament).
The kit's controller board has a surface-mounted
BASIC Stamp® 2 module, with a bread board area, and 38.5kHz modulated infrared opponent
detection and opto-reflector edge detection. Hardware includes the chassis, servo motors and wheels.
The Parallax support is given thru' their

|
Solarbotic's Sumovore is modular kit with a discrete controler, options of Basic Stamp or Atmel control
boards as an extra. It's driven by GM8 gear motors, with L293D motor driver, and had 38kHz modulated
infrared opponent detection and opto-reflector edge detection. Hardware includes steel chassis and front
plate/scoop, colour options are available on the front scoop and wheels.
